Marcus Rashford<\/a> and Conor Coady<\/a> have had to withdraw from their upcoming Nations League matches due to injury, England have announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marcus Rashford and Conor Coady to Be Absent for Nations League Matches<\/h2>\n

Fixture Pile-up Beginning to Damage Players<\/h3>\n

Manchester United<\/a> forward Rashford sustained a shoulder injury in his side’s 3-1 win against Everton<\/a> whilst Coady has been forced to self-isolate. According to Paul Joyce<\/a>, the Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a> defender received the news via an NHS Test and Trace alert after accidentally coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n

England’s official Twitter account has confirmed the withdrawal<\/a> of both players from the squad ahead of UEFA Nations League matches against Denmark and Belgium.<\/p>\n

Per Metro,<\/a> Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was visibly angry after United’s win at Goodison Park, saying his players were “set up to fail”.<\/p>\n

“How can you expect players to perform to the best of their ability when you send them out at 12.30 pm? Absolute joke.<\/p>\n

“A month ago we tried to move this game. What sense is there for us to play on a Saturday when we could play on the Sunday and there is an international break afterwards?<\/p>\n

“I can\u2019t say enough how hard these times are for everyone, not just footballers, and we want to see football with quality. Our players were set up to fail today with the schedule. I pushed my club to really fight the kick-off time on this one to give us at least half a chance, but it was quashed.”<\/p>\n

After winning 3-0 in a friendly against the Republic of Ireland on Thursday, England will be hoping to take spot in Group 2 of League A with wins against Belgium and Iceland.<\/p>\n

The Three Lions will come up against current group leaders Belgium on Sunday. Their game against Iceland was in doubt over COVID-19 travel restrictions, but the Government has since confirmed the game<\/a> will be allowed to take place.<\/p>\n
