An impressive debut season so far has resulted in a new contract for Hull City\u2019s<\/a> Jacob Greaves.<\/a><\/p>\n

The academy graduate has made five appearances in all competitions this season and has been rewarded with a new three-year deal.<\/p>\n

Hull City\u2019s Jacob Greaves Secures New Deal<\/h2>\n

Three-Year Deal for Hull Youngster<\/h3>\n

Hull City manager Grant McCann<\/a> has told the clubs official website of his delight after defender Jacob Greaves signed a new long term deal at the club. The new deal is for an initial three years with the option for a fourth to be added.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cJacob has come on leaps and bounds over the last 12-14 months.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greaves had spent last season on loan at Cheltenham Town and that experience was a good learning experience for the player according to McCann, who added: “The loan to Cheltenham was great for him \u2013 the physical battles of League Two, the demands of it, and he played in a good footballing team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clean Sheets<\/h3>\n

Jacob Greaves returned to Hull City after his loan spell and made his debut in the Papa John’s Trophy tie against Leicester City<\/a> earlier this season. Greaves is a hometown player who has worked his way through the academy and, at 20 years of age, is tipped for great things.<\/p>\n

Since his debut, Greaves has been solid at the back and contributed to three clean sheets in his last four appearances.<\/p>\n

One of Our Own<\/h3>\n

Grant McCann said there was little he needed to do to convince the youngster to sign a new and improved contract. His dad also played for Hull City and his love for the club is well known.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s one of our own, he loves the club, his dad played for the club. It\u2019s great news for everyone at the club,” the Tigers boss added.<\/p>\n

McCann is rebuilding Hull City after a turbulent few years and keeping young players is key to the success he is looking for. Another teenager. Keane Lewis-Potter is also in ongoing talks about a longer-term contract with the club.<\/p>\n
