Newcastle United<\/a> manager Steve Bruce looks resigned to lose Callum Wilson<\/a> and Ryan Fraser<\/a> to injury. Wilson limped off with a hamstring injury as the Magpies lost at Southampton<\/a> on Friday night, while Fraser is a doubt for Scotland’s international fixtures.<\/p>\n

Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser Sidelined for Newcastle United<\/h2>\n

Double Injury Blow for Steve Bruce<\/h3>\n

Callum Wilson has been an inspired signing for Newcastle. The former Bournemouth striker has six goals and one assist from just eight Premier League games.<\/p>\n

But now, Bruce will have to wait to find out the extent of the 28-year-old’s injury. Speaking after the defeat at Southampton<\/a>, Bruce said<\/a>: “It’s a hamstring and we don’t know how bad it is yet. He needs a scan.”<\/p>\n

As for Fraser, he will miss Scotland’s trips to Serbia, Slovakia and Israel through injury but could return when the Magpies face Chelsea<\/a> on Saturday, 21 November.<\/p>\n

The winger picked up a “small tear” in training in the build-up to the defeat at Southampton. Bruce added: “Unfortunately, yesterday he came into the treatment room and wasn’t happy. We then scanned it and revealed a small tear.”<\/p>\n

The pair will join Martin Dubravka and Matt Ritchie for a spell on the sidelines, while Jonjo Shelvey and Dwight Gayle also missed the trip to the south coast.<\/p>\n

Newcastle League Form<\/h3>\n

Newcastle are having an inconsistent time in the Premier League. Friday nights defeat on the south coast followed an impressive victory over Everton<\/a> and credible draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a> respectively. However, disappointing home defeats against Manchester United<\/a> and Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> have dampened what has been an otherwise promising start from Steve Bruce’s side.<\/p>\n

The Magpies are 11th in the Premier League table following Friday nights defeat with 11 points on the board.<\/p>\n
