The Germans will begin the international break by playing an international friendly against the Czech Republic. One of those players is Chelsea’s young star Kai Havertz. The forward tested positive for the Coronavirus this week ahead of the UEFA Champions League fixture against Rennes. Havertz recorded a goal and an assist against Switzerland in October and his absence will certainly hurt Germany’s quality in the final third.

There were other big names left off the roster for positive Coronavirus tests and injuries. Julian Draxler remains sidelined with an injury. Defender Niklas Süle had tested positive for the Coronavirus according to an official report from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund’s Emre Can has recently returned to training since testing positive but he will not be a part of the German squad.

Werner Looks to Continue Scoring

Timo Werner has been performing very well for Chelsea since the October international fixtures. In his last six appearances for Chelsea in the Champions League and Premier League, Werner has scored six goals. He will be one of the key players for Germany in the upcoming fixtures. Werner could be the difference-maker when Germany face Spain on the final matchday of the Nations League.

Main Photo
Embed from Getty Images

Germany’s 29-man squad for the November international fixtures has been released.
