It is not known whether the two cases are linked.

The first team of Wimbledon were to travel on Saturday 7th November to the North West but instead now have to self isolate.

Glyn Hodges Disappointed to Miss Out on FA Cup Magic

AFC Wimbledon boss Glyn Hodges had been hoping for some FA Cup magic this season and sees matches against the likes of Barrow as must-win games as he told Wimbledon’s official website:

“We’ve been giant-killing for years, as have other clubs, and that’s what the FA Cup is all about, but we’ve got to put in the hard yards. You’ve got to go on the road, you’ve got to play at all sorts of places, weird and wonderful, and you’ve got to earn the right to get these ties, so that’s what we will be trying to do.”

The 2020/21 season is an emotional one for AFC Wimbledon and their fans as they finally start to play football once more at Plough Lane. They returned to their proper home in that last match against Doncaster Rovers which they drew 2-2.

Next Match

Wigan at home is the next match now for AFC Wimbledon but it remains to be seen as to if that match will be under threat. Hodges will be hoping that self-isolation goes without a hitch and currently no players have shown any symptoms of the virus.

main photo
Embed from Getty Images

The Barrow and AFC Wimbledon FA Cup tie has been postponed after a number of positive Covid-19 tests for some of the Wimbledon squad, it has been confirmed.
