West Ham<\/a> manager David Moyes has dismissed claims<\/a> that transfer target Said Benrahma<\/a> has failed a medical.<\/p>\n

Benrahma To West Ham \u2018Ongoing\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n

How It Unfolded<\/h3>\n

Earlier today, The Daily Mirror\u2019s Darren Lewis reported<\/a> that the Brentford<\/a> midfielder had failed his medical, throwing the reported \u00a330m transfer into jeopardy.<\/p>\n

However, The Athletic\u2019s David Ornstein<\/a> later revealed that the deal was still on the table, tweeting: \u201cMedicals not technically passed\/failed \u2013 virtually every player has issues, so tests done and results used to help make recruitment decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cSources close to Benrahma deal say he will be a West Ham player.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, speaking at his Friday press conference,<\/a> David Moyes insisted that negotiations were in progress.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Benrahma] hasn\u2019t failed his medical and we hope something can be done later today,\u201d he said. \u201cPart of it is ongoing. We\u2019ll find out soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Transfer Questions for West Ham<\/strong><\/h3>\n

25-year old Benrahma is one of the most highly rated talents in the Football League<\/a> and securing his services would be a major catch for Moyes\u2019 side.<\/p>\n

The Algeria international was instrumental in Brentford\u2019s bid for promotion last season \u2013 scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists \u2013 and has the potential to become a forward talisman in the mould of Dimitri Payet<\/a> at the London Stadium.<\/p>\n

However, should the transfer fail to materialise before tonight\u2019s 5pm deadline, it would raise serious questions about West Ham\u2019s Premier League ambitions<\/p>\n

The Hammers sold promising youngster Grady Diangana<\/a> to rivals West Brom<\/a> to generate money for signings but despite being linked with various names, only three new faces have joined the squad this summer.<\/p>\n

Tomas Soucek <\/a>made the permanent switch from Slavia Prague back in July and was recently joined by defensive reinforcements Vladimir Coufal<\/a> and Craig Dawson.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, if West Ham miss out on Benrahma in the same transfer window, Hammers fans will be very disappointed by this summer\u2019s spending.<\/p>\n
