Leeds United d<\/a>irector of football Victor Orta has confirmed the club’s interest in signing Norwich City<\/a> forward Todd Cantwell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The newly-promoted Premier League club are also keeping tabs on<\/a> 19-year-old Derby County<\/a> midfielder Louie Sibley<\/a> in addition to Cantwell.<\/p>\n

Cantwell Interest Confirmed<\/h3>\n

Speculation over Leeds’ interest in Cantwell has been increasing for weeks. However, a move for Cantwell from Norwich to Elland Road is looking more unlikely ahead of Friday’s 5pm deadline for domestic transfers.<\/p>\n

Orta explained that the forward is just one of many players the club have scouted in England. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post<\/a>, Orta said: “We know them really well, their clubs were our rivals, we analysed [Cantwell] in the Premier League. But it’s like a lot of players we’ve analysed.<\/p>\n

“It’s difficult. They are players we analysed, we have information and then we need to think about the possibility.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Leeds were eager to add a midfielder to their squad before the summer transfer deadline earlier this month, but a deal for Bayern Munich’s<\/a> Michael Cuisance fell through<\/a>. Concerns were raised over Cuisance’s medical which led to a collapse in the deal.<\/p>\n

More Recent Interest in Sibley<\/h3>\n

Although Leeds’ interest in Cantwell has been noticeable, their attention towards Louie Sibley is more recent. The Yorkshire club have reportedly made enquiries<\/a> for Sibley. But it appears they will not make a concrete offer for the 19-year-old before Friday’s transfer deadline.<\/p>\n

Orta also explained that the club is in no rush to bring in extra players. He said: “When we analysed the market we detected that with the requirements we have for this position, if a player is not realistic over all the requirements, bringing in a player for the sake of bringing in a player is not clever.”<\/p>\n
