A total of five positive COVID-19 cases have been found in the latest round of Premier League testing<\/a> where 1,128 members of staff and club players were tested between Monday, October 5 and Sunday, October 11.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those that tested positive will now be required to go into a 10 day isolation period as they look to recover. The news, whilst still not positive, will come as some kind of relief for the Premier League following<\/a> the previous round’s total of nine cases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cause for Concern?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Despite the number going down from nine to five cases within the space of two rounds of testing, the Premier League still have plenty of cause for concern when it comes to containing the virus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Just within the Liverpool ranks, for example, four players have tested positive at various times with Sadio Mane<\/a> and Thiago Alcantara<\/a> missing the game against Aston Villa as a result.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both, having completed the isolation phases, will reportedly return<\/a> for Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton on Saturday as The Reds look to recover from a shock defeat against Aston Villa last time out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Premier League’s return from international break will also signal a return to the dugout<\/a> for West Ham United manager David Moyes who has missed the last two games following his positive COVID-19 test.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the isolation period now over, however, Moyes should be set to take to the Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> technical area for the highly anticipated early-season London derby. The game comes at a good time for the Hammers, too, having beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City in their last two games.<\/span><\/p>\n

They’ll be hoping that Moyes’ return will not signal a turn in form as they, instead, look ruin what could be Gareth Bale’s<\/a> official return.<\/span><\/p>\n
