West Ham United<\/a>\u00a0are in advanced talks over the signing of Watford<\/a> defender Craig Dawson<\/a>, according to Sky Sports News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A deal for the 30-year-old is expected to settle David Moyes’ desire to improve his team at centre-back.<\/p>\n

Craig Dawson an Experienced Addition for West Ham<\/h3>\n

West Ham have been active in their hunt for a new centre-back ever since the extended summer transfer window first opened. But with multiple bids rejected<\/a> for Burnley<\/a> man James Tarkowski<\/a>, it has taken the Hammers until now, with days of the domestic transfer window remaining, to find a suitable addition to their squad.<\/p>\n

Former West Bromwich Albion<\/a> defender Craig Dawson is an experienced Premier League<\/a> defender, and should this deal happen, is set for a return to the top flight following Watford’s relegation<\/a> last season.<\/p>\n

Dawson made 29 league appearances last season and was on the scoresheet twice<\/a>. However, he was unable to prevent the Hornets from suffering relegation in a campaign where four different managers had attempted to keep them up.<\/p>\n

David Moyes will know he is signing a player of vast experience. Prior to moving to Watford ahead of the 2019\/20 campaign, Dawson made 225 appearances<\/a> for West Brom, having been on the books at the Hawthorns for almost nine years.<\/p>\n

Brentford<\/a> forward Said Benrahma<\/a> could be another new addition<\/a> at the London Stadium ahead of the domestic deadline. The Algerian caught the eye in the Championship<\/a> last season as Brentford progressed to the play-off final, where they were beaten by Fulham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Benrahma scored 17 goals<\/a> in 43 league games, also registering nine assists.<\/p>\n

West Ham Saw Bid Rejected for Joshua King<\/h3>\n

The Hammers have also been in contact with Bournemouth<\/a> over a deal for Norway international Joshua King<\/a>. The\u00a0 London club reportedly had a bid in the region of \u00a313 million rejected<\/a>.<\/p>\n

King played in 26 Premier League games last season, scoring six times in the competition.<\/p>\n
