Chris Hughton has spoken out about rumours linking winger Anthony Knockaert with a move to Championship<\/a> outfit Nottingham Forest<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anthony Knockaert Rumoured Move to Nottingham Forest<\/h3>\n

The winger joined Fulham<\/a> just this summer but has struggled for first-team chances, making just three appearances in the Carabao Cup<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Knockaert played for Hughton at Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a>, netting 15 goals and nine assists during the Seagulls\u2019 promotion season.<\/span><\/p>\n

But the former Sussex outfit\u2019s boss remained coy over speculation linking him with a move for his ex-winger.<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked about the interest, he said: \u201cYes, I am aware, but I have just come through the door here.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know all the players but have not worked with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn some positions, we have very good numbers and decisions I will have to make is where we need to bring in, and where we need to move players on.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAny names that are named are purely speculation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Hughton inherits a squad at the City Ground that has seen 13 new signings arrive.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the former Newcastle United<\/a> boss says the arrival of several players of quality is a clear indication of the club\u2019s ambition.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere is no doubt by the players who have come in, and the amount who have come in, that the club is ambitious.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt a time when numerous clubs have been unable to bring in players, that cannot be said about Forest.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked whether it is frustrating to join an unsettled squad and not to have had any input on any of the arrivals, he said: \u201cThis is something I knew before I arrived. This is my starting position.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf the owner said to me \u2018you\u2019re allowed another 2 or 3 players\u2019 then that is something I know.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t have any complaints because the players did come in before I was here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
