Chris Hughton has been appointed Nottingham Forest manager following the sacking of Sabri Lamouchi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another Quick-Fire Turn Around at Forest<\/h3>\n

The former Brighton<\/a> and Newcastle United<\/a> manager moves to the City Ground with expansive managerial experience.<\/p>\n

He led both teams to promotion from the Championship<\/a> and helped them establish themselves in the top-flight.<\/p>\n

Hughton, a former Republic of Ireland international, had an impressive playing career with Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>, West Ham United<\/a> and Brentford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During a 13-year spell with Spurs, Hughton won two FA Cup<\/a>s and the UEFA Cup.<\/p>\n

The Essex-born 61-year-old has also led Norwich City<\/a> in the top-flight, guiding them to an 11th-placed finish in 2012-13.<\/p>\n

Writing On The Wall For Sabri Lamouchi<\/h3>\n

The appointment of Chris Hughton comes just 30 minutes following the news of Lamouchi’s departure.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman had failed to win any of his four matches in the Championship<\/a>\u00a0so far this season and exited the\u00a0Carabao Cup<\/a>\u00a0at the first stage.<\/p>\n

It took the Reds until their fourth League match of the season to score their first goal of the campaign, with\u00a0Luke Freeman<\/a>\u2018s excellent strike coming in vain as\u00a0Bristol City<\/a>\u00a0won 2-1.<\/p>\n

A short club statement said: \u201cNottingham Forest can confirm that the contract of head coach Sabri Lamouchi has been terminated with immediate effect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lamouchi has been in control at the City Ground for 15 months, taking over from Martin O\u2019Neill at the start of last season.<\/p>\n

Results came quickly under the Frenchman as Forest established themselves early on as a contender for promotion.<\/p>\n

Despite missing out on automatic promotion, Sabri looked set to guide them for a place in the play-offs.<\/p>\n

But the East Midlands outfit missed out on a place in the top six on the last day of the campaign and have struggled to improve since.<\/p>\n
