Tottenham<\/a> are stepping up their pursuit of Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, according to Dan Kilpatrick of The Evening Standard.<\/a><\/p>\n

Talks between Milan and the North London club had hitting a stumbling block last month. However, Jose Mourinho’s side are set to return with another offer.<\/p>\n

Centre-Back Search<\/h3>\n

Jose Mourinho has been looking to add another centre-back to his squad after losing Jan Vertonghen<\/a> to Benfica earlier in the window.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have had several targets in mind throughout the summer, but Skriniar has been their main target throughout.<\/p>\n

Talks had commenced earlier in the window, but agreeing a fee was proving to be a stumbling block.<\/p>\n

However, according to The Evening Standard, Spurs are set to make another bid for the Slovakian before Monday’s transfer deadline.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was a mainstay in Antonio Conte’s line-up last season, making 42 appearances in all competitions.<\/p>\n

Should he join, Skriniar would become first-choice under Mourinho. The Portuguese is yet to settle on his preferred combination at the heart of defence, using no fewer than five different pairings so far this season.<\/p>\n

Sessegnon Set to Depart on Loan<\/h3>\n

While Tottneham are looking to make two more additions before the transfer deadline – Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius is close to joining<\/a> – there could also be a departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n

According to Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports<\/a>, Ryan Sessegnon is attracting interest from German club Hoffenheim.<\/p>\n

The Bundesliga side are one of two sides looking to sign the 20-year-old on loan. Sessegnon has been linked with a move away this window after seeing his development come to a halt with Tottenham.<\/p>\n

The versatile left-sided midfielder is likely to have fallen down the pecking order due to arrival of Gareth Bale<\/a> in attack and Sergio Reguilon at left-back.<\/p>\n
