Fulham<\/a> are in advanced talks with Sampdoria for defender Omar Colley, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Premier League\u2019s<\/a> bottom club are desperate to add defensive reinforcements before the transfer deadline.<\/p>\n

Romano confirms that Colley has been left out of the Sampdoria squad for tomorrow\u2019s game against Fiorentina.<\/p>\n

It is not known whether this is a loan or permanent deal being discussed by the two clubs.<\/p>\n

Fulham\u2019s hopes of signing Barcelona<\/a> centre back Jean-Clair Todibo<\/a> are slim, with Romano confirming that Fulham’s loan bid for the defender was rejected.<\/p>\n

Fulham in Advanced Talks With Sampdoria Over Defender Omar Colley<\/h2>\n

Gambian centre-back Colley has been on the radar of several clubs across Europe. A move to Fulham would suit him, with the Cottagers desperate for defensive reinforcements.<\/p>\n

Colley is a regular for Sampdoria and his move would be a shrewd signing for Fulham. However, he must hit the ground running as the West Londoners struggling defensively. Only West Bromwich Albion<\/a> have conceded more goals than Fulham this season.<\/p>\n

The defence has been their priority in recent days, with several defenders linked with a move. Tottenham\u2019s<\/a> Juan Foyth<\/a>, Arsenal\u2019s<\/a> Calum Chambers<\/a> and Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>\u2019 Ryan Bennett<\/a> have all been suggested. Scott Parker is desperate to shore up Fulham\u2019s leaky defence in what remains in the transfer window.<\/p>\n

Colley has been a consistent performer in Serie A<\/a> and will lead from the back. Fulham\u2019s defence is crying out for organisation and leadership. He is also adaptable, with the Gambian defender able to play in a back four and a back three. Claudio Ranieri has used various systems at Sampdoria and Colley has been a regular player in all of them.<\/p>\n

This would be very good business for Fulham and certainly would ease the pressure on Parker to bring in defensive reinforcements.<\/p>\n
