Thomas Lemar<\/a> is set to leave Atletico Madrid<\/a> this summer as both Bayern Munich<\/a> and RB Leipzig<\/a> are showing interest in the French winger, according to Fabrizio Romano.<\/a><\/p>\n

Lemar has struggled in Madrid since his \u20ac70 million transfer from Monaco in 2018. It appears that he is ready to move on to a new challenge in Germany. Munich and Leipzig seem prepared to bring the 24-year-old to the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig Want Thomas Lemar<\/h2>\n

Lemar Heading to Bundesliga<\/h3>\n

Atletico would reportedly prefer to recoup some of their \u20ac70 million outlay on Lemar rather than loan the French forward, according to German news outlet Bild.<\/a><\/p>\n

Phillipe Coutinho, Thiago Alcantara<\/a> and Ivan Perisic<\/a> have all departed Munich during the transfer window. Therefore, the German champions have targetted Lemar as a replacement.<\/p>\n

However, Leipzig also appear to be interested.\u00a0 The Champions League semi-finalists are looking to reinvest the transfer funds from the \u00a347 million sale of Timo Werner<\/a> to Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leipzig have already brought in Josep Martinez<\/a>, Alexander Sorlorth<\/a> and Hee-Chan Hwang this summer, but they still have plenty of funds left to spend on Lemar.<\/p>\n

New Challenge<\/h3>\n

The interest from the likes of Munich and Leipzig could represent the chance for Lemar to make a fresh start.<\/p>\n

Lemar has endured a tumultuous period at Atletico with injuries and poor form hindering his opportunities to develop under Diego Simeone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He played 77 minutes in Atleti’s 6-1 win over Grenada last weekend. However, since his arrival in summer 2018, Lemar has only scored three goals in 73 appearances. Last season, the 24-year-old only completed nine of his 30 games in La Liga and was largely limited to appearances as a substitute.<\/p>\n

After drawing attention as a developing talent from Monaco, it has been a disappointing spell for Lemar. Before his move to Madrid, the winger scored 22 goals and provided 33 assists in over 100 appearances for the Ligue 1 club.<\/p>\n
