The future of Jadon Sancho remains in limbo as Borussia Dortmund have rejected an opening bid from Manchester United<\/a> for the England star.<\/p>\n

As the 5 October deadline for a potential move draws near, the Old Trafford club have stepped up their efforts to bring the former Manchester City<\/a> man back to the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Borussia Dortmund Reject Manchester United Jadon Sancho Bid<\/h2>\n

United’s Offer Falls Short of Dortmund’s \u00a3108 million Asking Price<\/h3>\n

The Bundesliga<\/a> club had initially set their own deadline of 10 August for any transfer for Sancho to take place.<\/p>\n

However, numerous outlets have since indicated that 20-time top flight champions United remain committed to securing a deal for their main summer transfer target.<\/p>\n

And now they have made their first official approach to Dortmund. Sky Sports News are reporting<\/a> that a \u00a391.3 million bid has been immediately rejected by the German club, who remain steadfast in their \u00a3108 million asking price.<\/p>\n

United’s bid reportedly proposes an initial fee of \u00a373 million, with the remaining sum to be carried in add-ons.<\/p>\n

Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek<\/a> remains the only addition to Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s squad so far this window. GOAL journalist and Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy is reporting<\/a> that Dortmund maintain their stance that Sancho will not be leaving the club this season.<\/p>\n

Jadon Sancho Absent For German Super Cup Clash<\/h3>\n

Amid speculation linking him with a move away, 20-year-old Sancho has not travelled with his team-mates for Dortmund’s upcoming Super Cup clash with European champions Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

However, it is thought that this is due to a “respiratory infection”<\/a> which has ruled Sancho out of the match. Dortmund won the 2019 edition 2-0, with Sancho scoring one goal and assisting the other.<\/p>\n

Club captain Marco Reus<\/a> has returned to full fitness for Dortmund, and believes that he will remain a team-mate of Sancho’s for at least another full season.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old recently told Sky Germany<\/a> that the Dortmund squad are: “all happy that [Jadon Sancho] will be with us for one more year because he delivers assists and goals, so we get points”.<\/p>\n

It is unclear whether Manchester United will return with an improved offer to Dortmund over the coming days.<\/p>\n
