Both Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> and Chelsea<\/a> will be looking to\u00a0 get back to winning ways when they face off in the Carabao Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n

Tottenham were handed a harshly controversial draw<\/a> against Newcastle United<\/a> following a late handball call.<\/p>\n

Frank Lampard\u2019s Blues, meanwhile, managed to salvage a draw against West Bromwich Albion<\/a> after a calamitous opening thirty minutes. Chelsea will be looking to put down a marker and gather some momentum as they look to establish themselves after spending at the expense of \u00a3200 million on seven signings.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur Face Chelsea in Carabao Cup<\/h2>\n

Recent Form<\/h3>\n

Spurs have only won once in the Premier League this season and head coach Mourinho admitted that he is going to have to choose one over the other<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to fight for the Carabao but I don\u2019t think I can,\u201d he said. \u201cBut we have a game on Thursday that gives us not as much money as the Champions League but the group phase of the Europa League gives us a certain amount that for a club like us is very important.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Blues, however, have made an underwhelming start to proceedings this season with a shaky win against Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a>, before disappointing displays against Liverpool<\/a> and West Brom.<\/p>\n

Son Heung-Min is set to be sidelined \u2018for a while\u2019 after coming off at half-time in the draw against Newcastle. Mourinho\u2019s top scorer this season joins returning Tottenham favourite Gareth Bale<\/a> and Japhet Tanganga in the injury room. However, Moussa Sissoko could take his place on the bench this time after withdrawing at the weekend with an illness.<\/p>\n

With the fixture congestion Spurs have at the moment, new signing Sergio Reguilon<\/a> could be in line for his debut, while record signing Tanguy Ndombele could also start.<\/p>\n

Chelsea could hand full debuts to Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy, with the latter signing from Rennes<\/a> last week and set to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga<\/a> as Lampard\u2019s number one goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Chilwell and Thiago Silva made their debuts in the last round against Barnsley, but Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic remain on the sidelines through injury.<\/p>\n
