James Tarkowski<\/a> has been the target of renewed interest from Leicester City<\/a>, who have reportedly made a substantial offer for the Burnley<\/a> defender.<\/p>\n

The news is being reported by the Telegraph<\/a>, who state that Tarkowski would be interested in a potential move to the King Power stadium.<\/p>\n

Burnley Face Battle to Keep Influential James Tarkowski<\/h3>\n

Tarkowski has been a man in demand throughout this summer’s transfer window. The player has been the subject of numerous bids from West Ham United<\/a>, the latest of which<\/a>\u00a0reportedly totalled \u00a331 million. That attempted transfer included an up-front fee of \u00a325 million, and was swiftly rejected by Burnley.<\/p>\n

Burnley manager Sean Dyche remains determined to keep hold of his highly-rated defender. Speaking of West Ham’s attempts<\/a> to sign Tarkowski, Dyche stated that “we want to keep our best players in-house, that’s for sure.”<\/p>\n

“With James Tarkowski, I am not planning on anything else other than him being here. He is a very good player and has delivered for us on a consistent basis over a long period of time. As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t see why any player would leave here at this moment in time and the numbers are considerable for that to be even considered,” added the Clarets’ boss.<\/p>\n

Tarkowski has been with Burnley since 2016, and has become an established Premier League centre-back.<\/p>\n

Brendan Rodgers Hopeful of Negotiating Cut-Price Deal<\/h3>\n

Burnley reportedly<\/a> value Tarkowski \u00a0closer to \u00a350 million than the \u00a330 million offer which has been made by Leicester. This is why the club have been so swift to reject West Ham’s recent offers for the 27-year-old.<\/p>\n

Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers, however, is reportedly keen to negotiate a deal with the club that would allow him to sign Tarkowski for a much smaller sum than the Clarets’ asking price.<\/p>\n

Rodgers’ side are next in action this weekend. Leicester face Manchester City on 27 September in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
