Norwich City<\/a> have declined two separate bids from Barcelona<\/a> for full-back Max Aarons<\/a>. According to David Ornstein of the Athletic,<\/a> the Catalan club have been monitoring the 20-year-old for months.<\/p>\n

The Norfolk-based club are facing the difficult task of keeping their squad together after last season\u2019s relegation. The Canaries possess a young and highly-talented squad, which has made keeping their stars extremely challenging.<\/p>\n

Barcelona See Two Bids Rejected for Norwich City\u2019s Max Aarons<\/h2>\n

The initial conversations between Barcelona and Norwich were regarding a loan deal with the option to buy. However, there were no performance-related add-ons or appearance-based bonuses.<\/p>\n

The second bid was believed to be an initial \u00a320 million, with performance and appearance-based add-ons included. It appears that Norwich would only have considered an offer which bought the 20-year-old outright.<\/p>\n

Barcelona Turn Their Attentions Elsewhere<\/h3>\n

Although a third move for Max Aarons could still be on the cards, Barcelona are weighing up their options elsewhere.<\/p>\n

One name that has been linked with a big-money move<\/a> to Barcelona is Ajax<\/a> full-back Sergino Dest<\/a>. However, the USA international finds himself in the middle of a tug of war between Barcelona and treble-winners Bayern Munich<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Max Aarons is Still a Wanted Man in Europe<\/h3>\n

Despite Barcelona turning their attentions to Dest, a number of other clubs remain interested in the full-back. Like the Dest situation, Bayern Munich are also interested in Aarons. Fellow German side Bayer Leverkusen<\/a> have also stepped up their interest in him, but face competition from England.<\/p>\n

Although Norwich were relegated last season, Aarons proved that he could handle the rigours of the Premier League. His performances in 2019\/20 campaign have attracted a whole host of top-flight clubs. Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> and Aston Villa<\/a> have been particularly fond of the 20-year-old but will do well to see off competition from the European giants that also want Aarons.<\/p>\n
