According to Martyne Ziegler of the Times<\/a>, Phil Foden<\/a> and Mason Greenwood<\/a> will not travel with the England squad from Iceland to Denmark after reportedly breaking the bubble in Reykjavik with some girls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Manchester duo were handed their debuts just a few days ago, but have now seemingly lost the trust of Gareth Southgate if reports are to be believed. All eyes were on the two youngsters for all the right reasons as they took the training camp’s turf.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, however, it looks as though their names will be disappointingly mentioned for all the wrong reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood Break Bubble in Reykjavik<\/span><\/h2>\n

Opportunity Wasted By Foden and Greenwood<\/span><\/h3>\n

England fans were almost begging Gareth Southgate to hand Foden and Greenwood their international debuts. So the England manager duly obliged. He called up the in-form Premier League<\/a> pair, with the two now experienced and mature enough to handle the biggest of stages.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As reported, however, both players have since thrown the trust and faith shown in them back into Southgate’s face. It is an early career mistake which many have made. It is now about learning from it, maturing and moving on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The duo may find it difficult to break into the England team again any time soon, though, with so much competition and so little room for error on the pitch, let alone off it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning Curve<\/span><\/h3>\n

Both Foden and Greenwood will now return to their respected clubs in Manchester after a reported moment to forget. As they return, they’ll undoubtedly receive strong words from their respected managers, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola, about how the club expects to be represented on international duty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, the situation will act as a huge learning curve for both players who will hope to still be in contention of a future call-up despite their recent antics in Iceland.<\/span><\/p>\n
