Bournemouth<\/a> have accepted Newcastle United\u2019s<\/a> \u00a320 million bid for Callum Wilson. The striker will now finalise personal terms with the Magpies and should complete his move in the coming days.<\/p>\n

The news comes after fellow Premier League club Aston Villa<\/a> submitted a \u00a321 million bid yesterday. However, it is understood that Villa have withdrawn their interest upon learning that Newcastle was Wilson\u2019s preferred destination.<\/p>\n

In their recent pre-season friendly matches, it has become apparent that a striker is required at St James\u2019 Park. Only Andy Carroll<\/a> has featured up-top for Newcastle in their warm-up matches and the Magpies are in search for an alternative approach.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a very prolific spell with Bournemouth. Wilson has scored 67 goals in 187 appearances for the Cherries since arriving form Coventry City in 2014<\/a>. In that time, he has become a stand-out performer and an integral part of Bournemouth\u2019s 5-year spell in the premier league.<\/p>\n

The striker\u2019s performances in the Premier League have earned Wilson a place in Gareth Southgate<\/a>\u2019s England squad<\/a>. His first call-up to the squad was in November 2018, for games versus Croatia and USA. Despite being an unused sub against the Croatians, Wilson started for Southgate\u2019s men against USA. The 28-year-old repaid his manager\u2019s faith with a debut goal and a brilliant performance.<\/p>\n

The Magpies Are Starting to Get Busy<\/h3>\n

As well as submitting a bid for Callum Wilson, the Magpies have been busy elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have also placed an initial \u00a313.5 million bid<\/a> for Norwich City\u2019s<\/a> Jamal Lewis<\/a>. The young left-back has been subject to interest from several clubs this window, but it looks like the Magpies have won the battle.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have also expressed their to desire to sign former Bournemouth winger<\/a> Ryan Fraser<\/a>. The free-agent has reportedly been wanting a move closer to his Aberdeen-based family and Newcastle could be the destination for the Scottish International.<\/p>\n
