Rhys Norrington-Davies<\/a> has joined Luton Town<\/a>, becoming the Hatters fourth signing this summer. The highly-rated left-back joins on a season-long loan from Premier League side Sheffield United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He follows Jordan Clark<\/a>, Tom Lockyer<\/a> and James Bree<\/a> into the Town squad, ahead of the Championship commencing next week.<\/p>\n

Starting Spot Available for Norrington-Davies<\/h3>\n

Luton have needed a left-back this summer, with both Dan Potts<\/a> and Brendan Galloway<\/a> suffering with injury. It seems that the Welsh U21 international will be looking to cement a starting spot imminently under Nathan Jones<\/a> and will be looking forward to gaining Championship experience.<\/p>\n

During Luton\u2019s pre-season, recent youth team graduates Corey Panter and Sam Beckwith have played at left-back. It has been a great experience for the pair, but moving forward in the Championship, the Hatters needed a player like Norrington-Davies.<\/p>\n

Progression Into Championship Football<\/h3>\n

The 21-year-old started his career at Aberystwyth Town before being snapped up by Swansea City<\/a>. By 18-years-old he joined Sheffield United, before gaining some invaluable senior experience elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Unlike Luton\u2019s current left-back options, Norrington-Davies has received a lot of game-time over the last couple of seasons. He spent the 2018\/2019 season on loan at Barrow, making 28 appearances for the club. He was then shipped out to Rochdale at the beginning of last season, where he made 34 appearances before the season was voided.<\/p>\n

What Was Said?<\/h3>\n

Luton boss Nathan Jones was delighted with the signing and looks forward to working with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cRhys is someone with a great pedigree from Swansea and Sheffield United. He is someone I\u2019ve watched all through last season at Rochdale. When he became available we wanted to get him.\u201d He said<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s athletic, he\u2019s committed and has a great desire to do well, which is what we want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about the Welsh influence he is integrating into his squad, Jones jokingly told Luton\u2019s website<\/a> that \u201cit is always nice to have a few Welsh men in the building\u201d.<\/p>\n
