Everton<\/a> youngster Anthony Gordon<\/a> has agreed a new five-year deal with the club, keeping him with the Toffees until at least 2025.<\/p>\n

Breakthrough Season<\/h3>\n

The 2020\/21 season could be an important season in Gordon’s development at Goodison Park.<\/p>\n

After an impressive with the U23’s throughout much of last season, the 19-year-old broke into Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team following project restart. He featured in every game post-lockdown, registering a single assist.<\/p>\n

However, he will now been keen to continue that development in the forthcoming season.<\/p>\n

Everton may look to continue developing their academy products in the 2020\/21 campaign. Gordon broke through alongside Jarrad Branthwaite<\/a>, a January signing from Carlisle United, and neither looked out of place.<\/p>\n

Looking to Repay the Faith Placed in Him<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the official Everton website<\/a>, Gordon spoke about he will look to repay the faith placed in him by the Toffees.<\/p>\n

“I am delighted to sign and it is a big reward for my hard work,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

“The contract shows the Club\u2019s faith in me and how much confidence they have in me and that is going to come out in my performances on the pitch.<\/p>\n

“Everton is looking like it is on the up.<\/p>\n

“We are coming together as players, staff and fans.<\/p>\n

“We have new things to be excited about, such as the new manager, Marcel [Brands] is a great Director [of Football] and we have the new stadium to look forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old is not the only player to commit his future to the club. Centre-back Michael Keane also signed a new deal recently, and Gordon is looking forward to the future with the Toffees.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is another thing we can be excited about, we have really good young players as part of our squad,\u201d he said when speaking about Keane.<\/p>\n

“Hopefully, we can grow and progress together and get that bit of experience where we can go and do something.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot just push for silverware but get there and win trophies and achieve what we want to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n
