Chelsea<\/a> are simply not stopping this window. Having completed four major signings, manager Frank Lampard is closing in on the big one. That is, of course, Kai Havertz<\/a>, and the player did not attend Bayer Leverkusen’s performance tests, according to Christian Falk, <\/a>as chelsea close in on the completion of the deal.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Summer Spending Spree Continues<\/h3>\n

Coming off a yearlong transfer ban and the high-profile sales of Eden Hazard<\/a> and Alvaro Morata<\/a>, it was clear the Blues had money to spend, and they were not shy about it.<\/p>\n

In a time where most clubs are feeling the financial effects of Covid-19, Chelsea and owner Roman Abramovich will spend over \u00a3200 million. Havertz is just one of several quality players that are heading to Stamford Bridge this summer.<\/p>\n

Hakim Ziyech<\/a> and Timo Werner<\/a> have already featured<\/a> for the club for the first time, while Ben Chilwell<\/a> and Thiago Silva<\/a> have already been confirmed as signings.<\/p>\n

Chilwell is still recovering from a heel injury, but Thiago Silva should be training at Cobham soon. And now, Havertz has not attended his club’s performance tests (although he had to attend the Covid test for his national team).<\/p>\n

Another Youngster for Lampard’s Revolution<\/h3>\n

Hiring a young and exciting manager, Chelsea are keeping that same mindset for their players, establishing a young core with incredible potential.<\/p>\n

Havertz will join some incredibly talented youngsters such as Christian Pulisic<\/a>, Mason Mount<\/a>, Tammy Abraham<\/a>, Fikayo Tomori,<\/a> and Callum Hudson-Odoi,<\/a> not to mention the other summer signings.<\/p>\n

There will only be three players above the age of 30 in the squad this season: Silva, captain Azpilicueta<\/a> and Olivier Giroud<\/a>. That is a very remarkable stat for a side that finished 4th last season and is looking to compete for the title this time around.<\/p>\n

Chelsea do have experience in the form of N’Golo Kant\u00e9\u00a0<\/a>as well, and this blend of youth and experience, while mostly youth, looks to be serving them well. These youngsters grew up idolizing Lampard, and now they are looking to emulate him.<\/p>\n

It will be fascinating to see if this young squad is capable of maintaining a title push. Havertz is a very important piece in this, with his significant goal contributions capable of making the difference.<\/p>\n

For now, though, we simply wait for the deal to finally become official, something that is only a matter of time, according to Fabrizio Romano.<\/a><\/p>\n
