Ajax<\/a> manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed<\/a> developments regarding a potential transfer for Donny van de Beek<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His comments came just minutes after a report<\/a> from Mike Verweij, of De Telegraaf, suggested that interest from Barcelona<\/a> and Manchester United<\/a> is becoming increasingly more concrete.<\/p>\n

Donny van de Beek Misses Ajax Friendly Due to Transfer Developments<\/h2>\n

The Ajax midfielder<\/a> looks ready to leave Ajax this summer and had agreed<\/a> to a six-year contract with Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid<\/a> before the coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n

It is claimed only a medical stood in the way of that deal happening before the resulting financial situation put Real’s interest to an end.<\/p>\n

Van de Beek played against Hertha BSC<\/a> on Tuesday, and that may be his last game for the club.<\/p>\n

He misses Saturday’s meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt<\/a>, because of transfer developments, according to Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n

“There are indeed developments that keep him out of the selection,” Ten Hag revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He added that the club will report more on the situation when there is more clarity.<\/p>\n

Who Is Interested?<\/h3>\n

It is not known if the decision not to play against Eintracht Frankfurt has come from Ajax, the buying club, or Van de Beek himself.<\/p>\n

Barcelona and Manchester United are named as interested parties, with noises arising of-late, suggesting their interest is becoming more concrete.<\/p>\n

If joining Barcelona, Van de Beek would be reunited with Ronald Koeman<\/a>, who coached him for the Netherlands<\/a> on international duty.<\/p>\n

There are other interested parties, De Telegraaf’s report added, though not naming them.<\/p>\n

All About Van de Beek<\/h3>\n

It is not clear who exactly will be signing Van de Beek if anyone. However, whoever does, is going to have a very good player on their hands.<\/p>\n

He produced 21 goal involvements in 37 appearances in all competition across 2019\/20 for the Eredivisie<\/a> side.<\/p>\n

He is undoubtedly one of the first names on the teamsheet and is almost certain to join a European giant sooner or later.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old has been an impeccable servant to the historic Dutch football club, where he has been on the books since 2008. He has played 175 times for them, scoring 41 goals and providing 34 assists.<\/p>\n

Van de Beek is a Dutch international too, having been capped nine times by the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

He was given his international debut by former Sunderland<\/a> boss Dick Advocaat in November 2017.<\/p>\n
