Leeds United<\/a> are on the verge of a deal for Freiburg centre-back Robin Koch<\/a>, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.<\/a>\u00a0The defender, set to join for a fee of \u00a313 Million, has also been a target<\/a> for a number of clubs including Manchester United<\/a>, Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> and RB Leipzig.<\/a><\/p>\n

Robin Koch Nearing Leeds Move<\/h2>\n

Robin Koch a Much Needed Centre-Back for Leeds<\/h3>\n

Since the window opened last month, Leeds United<\/a> have been in the hunt for a centre-back. Most notably, Ben White<\/a> who was a key part of their Championship<\/a> winning side last season.<\/p>\n

But despite three bids for the Brighton<\/a> defender, including one of \u00a325 Million<\/a>, it looks most likely that White won’t be joining the Yorkshire side on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n

However, Leeds look to have finally found that much needed centre-half in Robin Koch, and the Freiburg man could be a perfect fit for the Premier League newboys. Koch is known to be very good in the air, winning 110 of his aerial challenges last season, the 5th best record in the Bundesliga.<\/a><\/p>\n

Koch is also a ball playing defender, completing 89% of his attempted passes last season. He\u00a0could suit Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play, as the Leeds boss likes his defenders to be good on the ball.<\/p>\n

On top of all that, Koch is also a German international, winning two caps for his country, the first of which came in October of last year.<\/p>\n

A Quiet Window for Leeds Is Beginning to Come to Life<\/h3>\n

Leeds United are yet to have made any first team signings. So far, most of the clubs’ acquisitions have been to their academy. Most recent of which was Sam Greenwood, who joined from Arsenal <\/a>on Friday.<\/a><\/p>\n

But Robin Koch looks to be one of two signings made by Leeds in the next couple of days. Valencia forward Rodrigo, is also close to joining the club for a fee of \u00a330 Million.<\/a><\/p>\n

Leeds begin their Premier League campaign on September 12 with an trip to champions Liverpool in what is looking likely to be a feisty affair.<\/p>\n
