Millwall have signed both Mason Bennett<\/a> and Scott Malone<\/a> from fellow Championship<\/a> side Derby County. Bennett joins the Lions on a permanent deal, whilst Malone has agreed on a season-long loan.<\/p>\n

Bennett Returns to the Den on Permanent Deal<\/h3>\n

Bennett has joined the East London club for an undisclosed fee, bringing to a close his time at Derby. The forward made his debut for the Rams at just 15-years-old in 2011 and is still the club’s youngest ever first-team player and goalscorer.<\/p>\n

Bennett returns to Gary Rowett<\/a>‘s side after spending the second half of last season on loan with them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He made nine appearances for the Lions, scoring twice, predominantly playing out wide, however, he has the ability to also play as a centre forward.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old leaves Pride Park after more than a decade at the club. He racked up 90 appearances for the Rams but only returned six goals in that time.<\/p>\n

Derby Let Malone Join Millwall on Loan<\/h3>\n

Following Bennett down south to join the Londoners, Scott Malone rejoins his former club on a season-long loan. The full-back’s opportunities were limited when football returned in June.<\/p>\n

Despite making a total of 21 appearances for Phillip Cocu<\/a>‘s side last term, he played just three minutes of football after the restart.<\/p>\n

Craig Forsyth<\/a>, Max Lowe<\/a> and more recently youngster Lee Buchanan have been favoured by Cocu for the left-back position.<\/p>\n

Malone was signed in the summer of 2018 by Frank Lampard<\/a> and played 35 matches during the 2018\/19 season as Derby fell just short of promotion.<\/p>\n

However, with one year left on his current deal at Pride Park and few chances expected under Cocu, a loan move back to his former club makes sense for the 29-year-old.<\/p>\n

Malone played 71 times for the East London side between 2012 and 2015 before joining Cardiff City.<\/p>\n
