Doncaster Rovers<\/a> have signed midfielder Ed Williams<\/a> on a two-year<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n

Williams is Doncaster’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jason Lokilo<\/a>, Josef Bursik<\/a>, and Taylor Richards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Doncaster Rovers Sign Ed Williams<\/h2>\n

Impressed in Pre-Season During Trial<\/h3>\n

Williams has impressed Darren Moore during pre-season, which he has spent on a trial with Doncaster Rovers.<\/p>\n

The versatile midfielder started out at Cheltenham Town<\/a> and had a spell at Gloucester City, where he was named Player of the Year in 2017\/18.<\/p>\n

Williams, 25, was also studying during his time with Gloucester.<\/p>\n

Most recently, he had played for Kidderminster Harriers.<\/p>\n

Buzzing to Join Doncaster Rovers<\/h3>\n

“I’m so glad to get it over the line,” Williams said<\/a>. “I’ve obviously been here for two weeks now and I think it’s gone really well and I’m buzzing to be here.<\/p>\n

“All the boys and the staff have been really welcoming and it’s been really enjoyable. I’ve enjoyed it a lot.<\/p>\n

“It’s a lot of pressure to do well and earn a contract but I’m confident in my own ability and I’m pleased it’s paid off.”<\/p>\n

Determined to Prove Himself in Football League<\/h3>\n

“I’m determined to prove myself,” Williams added<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It’s been a long few years in non-league but I’ve learned a lot from it and I feel like I’m ready to make the step.”<\/p>\n

Trial Was Initially Agreed in January<\/h3>\n

Williams is said to be good on the ball, which is always going to be of great importance in Darren Moore’s Doncaster Rovers side.<\/p>\n

He has shown goalscoring traits, with 15 goals in his 51 appearances for Kidderminster Harriers.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was going to<\/a> join Doncaster on trial in January, where he’d have featured for the U23 side, however, an injury prevented that from happening.<\/p>\n

He then started his trial this summer and has now bagged himself a two-year contract with the League One<\/a> club.<\/p>\n
