Swansea City<\/a> have signed Jamal Lowe<\/a> on a three-year deal from Wigan Athletic.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Swans secured the winger’s signature for an undisclosed fee, with the option to keep the 26-year old at the Liberty Stadium for an additional 12 months.<\/p>\n

Lowe, who featured in every match for the relegated Latics last season, is the fifth player to move to South Wales this summer, following the arrivals of Korey Smith, Freddie Woodman, Morgan Gibbs-White<\/a> and Marc Guehi.<\/a><\/p>\n

Lowe: I Was Never Going to Let the Chance Go<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the club website<\/a>, Lowe said: \u201cEarlier in my career I had four years out of the EFL, and I was hungry to get back in. I was never going to let the chance go when it came up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the same with the move here, I will give 100 per cent week in and week out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am just buzzing to finally be here, it has been a long time in the process and it\u2019s great to get it over the line.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have shown that I can perform at this level, that was a real test for me last season with it being my first year in the Championship. I want to kick on from here now.”<\/p>\n

He also revealed that manager Steve Cooper had a huge influence on his decision to move to Swansea.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conversations I\u2019ve had with the gaffer has made a positive impression on me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe spoke about the hunger of the players, what a tight-knit squad there is here, and that is massive for me. Some clubs have not got the right environment, but this sounded like the perfect package and a good fit for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Non-League to Championship<\/h3>\n

England C international Lowe started his career with Barnet in 2012 but spent four seasons playing non-league football after struggling to break into their first team.<\/p>\n

However, after scoring 29 goals in 48 games for Hampton & Richmond Borough, he caught the attention of League Two<\/a> Portsmouth<\/a> and moved to Fratton Park ahead of the 2016-17 season.<\/p>\n

Lowe made 103 appearances for Pompey across three seasons and earned a League Two winners medal in 2017, before signing for Wigan Athletic last summer.<\/p>\n

The midfielder made 46 appearances in Wigan\u2019s troubled campaign, scoring six goals and registering five assists in his first season in the Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n
