Inter Milan<\/a> have entered talks with Barcelona<\/a> to sign Arturo Vidal<\/a>, according to Fabrizio Romano.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Vidal played under current Inter boss Antonio Conte<\/a> at Juventus<\/a>. It appears that the two are looking to re-unite at Inter next season as Conte looks to improve his squad.<\/p>\n

Inter Milan Enter Talks With Barcelona Over Arturo Vidal<\/h2>\n

Vidal’s current contract with Barca expires in June 2021. The Chilean midfielder does not seem to be part of Ronald Koeman<\/a>‘s plans after the Dutch coach became manager at the Camp Nou last week.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old was a central figure under the previous boss, Quique Seti\u00e9n<\/a>. Vidal made 33 La Liga appearances last season for Barca, scoring eight goals and making two assists.<\/p>\n

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio<\/a>, contact has already been made between Inter and Barca. Negotiations continue to take place but Vidal reportedly sees Inter as the right place to re-ignite his career<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Conte and Vidal Re-United<\/h3>\n

Conte seems very interested in bringing Vidal back to Italy. He will hope to bolster his midfield options with the future of Belgian midfielder, Radja Nainggolan<\/a>, still uncertain according to Di Marzio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vidal played under Conte whilst the Italian coach led Juventus in two spells between 2011 and 2014.<\/p>\n

The Chilean playmaker played over 150 games for Juve in his first spell and excelled under Conte. He went on to score 48 goals and made 25 assists for the club.<\/p>\n

During his first spell, Vidal and Conte lifted two Serie A titles with Juventus. Vidal enjoyed further success with the club, securing four league titles in total and one Italian Cup when Conte was not the manager.<\/p>\n

However, now aged 33, it remains to be seen whether Vidal will be the same player he was under Conte initially. The eccentric midfielder was breaking through in his first spell in Italy and may not play a starting role in the squad with the likes of Miralem Pjanic<\/a>, Rodrigo Bentancur<\/a> and Adrien Rabiot<\/a> in centre midfield.<\/p>\n
