Chelsea<\/a> have ‘no doubts’ that Ben Chilwell<\/a> will soon complete his move to the club from Leicester City<\/a>, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that the transfer is in its final stages.<\/p>\n

Leicester Defender Was Always Frank Lampard<\/a>‘s Main Choice<\/h3>\n

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard<\/a> has long desired a new left-back. The Blues manager is not convinced by the defensive capabilities of either Marcos Alonso<\/a> or Emerson Palmieri. The Blues boss\u00a0views Chilwell as his preferred candidate to take up that position in his side’s defence.<\/p>\n

It now looks certain that Lampard will get his wish, as the Stamford Bridge club continues to back the 42-year-old in the transfer market.<\/p>\n

Chilwell himself is keen for the move<\/a> to happen. Chelsea pipped his Leicester side to the fourth and final Champions League spot in the Premier League last season, meaning the Blues can offer him a European opportunity that Leicester cannot. Brendan Rodgers<\/a>‘ side will instead be playing Europa League football next season.<\/p>\n

Chilwell’s current contract at Leicester runs until 2024. Sky Sports are reporting<\/a> that a \u00a350 million fee has been agreed between the clubs for a deal to go through.<\/p>\n

Frank Lampard is Completing the Chelsea Puzzle<\/h3>\n

In Lampard’s first season as Chelsea manager, he led his side to Champions League football and an FA Cup final<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The London club are keen to push on from there, and have been highly active in the market so far this summer.<\/p>\n

Chilwell is expected to become the third major signing so far in this window. The 23-year-old follows Timo Werner<\/a> and Hakim Ziyech<\/a> to Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Also in the pipeline for Chelsea is a deal for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz<\/a>, with a fee set to be agreed<\/a> for the German international over the coming days.<\/p>\n

Experienced centre-back Thiago Silva<\/a> is reportedly also on the verge<\/a> of a move to Stamford Bridge as Lampard strengthens his squad in a number of areas ahead of the new season.<\/p>\n
