Gianluca Di Marzio reports<\/a> that AC Milan<\/a> are edging towards the permanent signing of Ante Rebic<\/a> from Eintracht Frankfurt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rebic made the move to Milan last summer, initially signing<\/a> a two-year loan deal.<\/p>\n

He has impressed<\/a> so much that Stefano Pioli is looking to secure his signing a year early.<\/p>\n

Agreement Reached With Rebic<\/h3>\n

It is reported that whilst the priority of the Rossoneri is the extension of Zlatan Ibrahimovic<\/a>, progress has been made in the pursuit of Ante Rebic’s permanent signature.<\/p>\n

An agreement has been reached with Rebic over his contract in Italy.<\/p>\n

The club are working on the final details with Eintracht Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

How Frankfurt Have Found Life Without Rebic<\/h3>\n

The Bundesliga<\/a> side picked up nine fewer points in 2019\/20, having lost Rebic. They were without Luka Jovic<\/a>, who had deserted them for Spanish<\/a> giants Real Madrid<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n

That said, they only dropped two places in the Bundesliga table.<\/p>\n

Rebic’s future was probably decided long ago though and his permanent move to Milan was surely inevitable.<\/p>\n

Tremendous Form Under Pioli<\/h3>\n

The Croatian striker has been in tremendous form since the turn of the year. Rebic had a difficult start to his Serie A<\/a> return, having previously played in Italy with Fiorentina<\/a> and Hellas Verona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rebic did not contribute to a single goal in his opening seven Serie A appearances for AC Milan. He didn’t feature for longer than 12 minutes in four of those seven games, though.<\/p>\n

After Marco Giampaolo’s dismissal, it took time but Rebic was eventually afforded valuable minutes to prove himself at AC Milan and he took advantage of them.<\/p>\n

From the 3-2 win over Udinese<\/a> on January 19 to his final appearance of the season, a 4-1 win over Sampdoria<\/a> on July 29, Rebic scored 11 goals and provided three assists in his 18 games for the club.<\/p>\n

A primary contributor to Milan’s unbeaten record post-lockdown, Rebic has more than earned the right to join permanently.<\/p>\n
