Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> manager Thomas Tuchel has said that Lionel Messi<\/a> would be welcome at the French club if he was to leave Barcelona<\/a>. Howeve, he expects the Argentine to finish his career at the Catalan club.<\/p>\n

Tuchel was speaking after seeing his PSG side lose 1-0<\/a> to Bayern Munich<\/a> in the Champions League<\/a> final last night.<\/p>\n

Tuchel Expects Messi to Retire at Barcelona<\/h2>\n

Speaking to BT Sport after the final, Paris Saint-Germain manager\u00a0Tuchel said<\/a>: “He is very welcome! Which club says no to Messi?<\/p>\n

“We have chosen not to speak about transfers. We will sit together in the next few days and have many things to improve the squad and keep the level of players that we missed here.<\/p>\n

“I think Messi finishes his career in Barcelona. He is Barcelona.”<\/p>\n

Deeper Squad Needed for Paris Saint-Germain<\/h3>\n

Although the Champions League final normally means the end of the season and the beginning of a break, PSG start their Ligue 1<\/a> campaign on Saturday.<\/p>\n

This, as well as losing star centre-back Thiago Silva<\/a>, who looks set to join<\/a> Chelsea<\/a> on a free transfer, means that PSG may well need a bigger squad to get them through this period.<\/p>\n

About this, Tuchel said<\/a>: “We lost lots of players for this campaign and we lose now Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We need to use the transfer window now to make the squad wider. The campaign will be very demanding without any breaks.<\/p>\n

“We need to build a strong squad. We decided not to talk about transfers in this period. We’ll sit together in the next days.”<\/p>\n

Barcelona Upheaval<\/h3>\n

Barcelona’s 8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final has been seen as a catalyst for what is expected to be a busy transfer window for the Spanish club.<\/p>\n

Some Spanish media reports<\/a> have suggested Messi is looking for a move, however, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has said that he is one of seven players who will definitely not leave the club this summer.<\/p>\n

He said:<\/a> “Who’s not for sale? Leo Messi.<\/p>\n

“We’d also be talking about [Marc-Andre] ter Stegen<\/a>, [Nelson] Semedo<\/a>, [Frenkie] de Jong<\/a>, [Clement] Lenglet<\/a>, [Ousmane] Dembele<\/a> and [Antoine] Griezmann<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

If this is true then expect Messi to stay at the club he has been at since the age of 13 years old for the considerable future instead of making the switch to a club like Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n
