Paul Pogba<\/a> remains an important player in Manchester United<\/a>\u2019s project, and contract talks will begin soon between the player and the club, according to the midfielder’s agent.<\/p>\n

The news is being reported by Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, who also details that the Manchester club will not accept any bid made for the Frenchman this summer.<\/p>\n

Paul Pogba Set to Open Talks for New Contract<\/h2>\n

Mino Raiola Also Confirms the Player\u2019s Importance to Manchester United<\/h3>\n

Pogba is represented by Dutch superagent Mino Raiola<\/a>, who also works with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovi\u0107<\/a>\u00a0and Erling H\u00e5land.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to reports, Raiola said:<\/a>\u00a0\u201cPogba is a key player for Manchester United; they have an important project and he\u2019s 100% included.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarding the player\u2019s immediate and longer-term future, Raiola added that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a>\u2019s side \u201cwill not accept any bid made this summer to sell Pogba.”<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re going to speak about a new contract soon. No stress,\u201d added the 52-year-old.<\/p>\n

The news will come as a relief to Manchester United fans, who had been waiting patiently over whether the midfielder would commit his future to the club.<\/p>\n

Pogba rejoined the Red Devils from Juventus<\/a> in 2016, and currently has a year remaining on his existing deal. United, though, carry the option to trigger an automatic extension for another year on top of that, taking him to 2022.<\/p>\n

An Injury-Hit Season for Paul Pogba<\/h3>\n

The 27-year-old returned from lockdown to forge an encouraging midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes<\/a> and Nemanja Mati\u0107\u00a0<\/a>at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Before that, repeated ankle problems had made for a frustrating 2019\/20 season for the midfielder. Overall, Pogba made 22 appearances for his club across all competitions in a disrupted campaign, scoring once.<\/p>\n

Numerous news outlets are reporting<\/a> that Manchester United\u2019s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is set to offer the player a contact extension over the coming days.<\/p>\n
