Liverpool have announced<\/a>\u00a0that young defender Morgan Boyes<\/a> has joined Fleetwood Town<\/a> on loan for the season. The talented centre back will link with Joey Barton\u2019s Fleetwood side who are competing for promotion in League One<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boyes has made two senior appearances for Liverpool<\/a> but will now get some consistent game time under his belt.<\/p>\n

Boyes Will Spend The 2020\/21 Season With The League One Side<\/h3>\n

Boyes has been a regular in the Under 23s set up at Liverpool but will now taste the football league for the first time. His two senior appearances came in last season’s Carabao Cup ties against Everton<\/a> and Aston Villa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He will join a Fleetwood Town side hoping to go one better this season and secure promotion. The Cod Army fell short last campaign losing in the play-off semi-finals to Wycombe Wanderers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The defender arrives as Fleetwood\u2019s third summer signing after Callum Camps<\/a> and Jordan Rossiter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the age of 19, Boyes is ready to test himself in the football league and show what he can do. He has plenty of experience in the academy and has represented Wales at Under 19 level.<\/p>\n

Morgan Boyes “Excited” About Fleetwood Move<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Fleetwood website<\/a> about his move, Boyes said \u201cI\u2019m excited to start and play men\u2019s football for the first time for a great club like Fleetwood Town.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying in the under 23s at Liverpool is good but it\u2019s not the real game. I want to move into the league and get going with the group of lads that we have here now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a challenge coming here but I know that and I want to get going straight away. I was in training, my first day today, and there were a few characters in the squad. I think everything went well and luckily everyone was fine with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a good solid defender. I\u2019d like to say I\u2019m a calm defender who likes to play and build up from the back. I don\u2019t like to just get rid of it, I\u2019d rather just get the ball down and get the ball up the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI like to keep it calm, and prevent silly risks on the ball. Off the pitch though, I\u2019d say that I\u2019m a bit of a character but that will grow as I get to know the new set of lads.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joey Barton Delighted To Bring In The Defender<\/h3>\n

Manager Joey Barton added<\/a> \u201cHe\u2019s a player our scouts have been watching for a while and we are delighted to get him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMorgan is a young player with plenty of potential, hopefully, we can help him develop at Fleetwood and see him establish himself in our side.\u201d<\/p>\n
