Lincoln City have confirmed that they have re-signed defender TJ Eyoma on a season-long loan.<\/p>\n
The 20-year-old signed a new deal<\/a> with parent club Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> before returning to the LNER Stadium.<\/p>\n Eyoma will add strength in depth to the Imps’ defence.<\/p>\n Lincoln manager Michael Appleton currently has just one right-back in his side following the departure of Neal Eardley.<\/p>\n As a result, it was an area of the pitch that needed strengthening, and the 20-year-old is likely to feature more than what he did in his previous loan spell.<\/p>\n Eyoma failed to make an appearance for the Imps last season following the curtailment of the 2019\/20 season. However, due to his versatility – he can also play at centre-back – that is likely to change in the forthcoming campaign.<\/p>\n It could be at centre-back where he earns his chance. Lincoln currently only have two senior centre-backs on their books in Cian Bolger and summer signing Lewis Montsma<\/a>.<\/p>\n Speaking about his return to the official Lincoln City website<\/a>, Eyoma said: “I\u2019m delighted to return. I learnt a lot last season despite not playing, and I\u2019m really grateful for the opportunity to come here again.<\/p>\n “Michael likes to develop young players, and this is a reason why I wanted to return. I feel like I\u2019ll play games which will develop me further as a player, and hopefully my ability can contribute towards the team. I can\u2019t wait to get going.\u201d<\/p>\n Appleton added: “We are delighted to have TJ back with us. He was very unfortunate not to get some game time before we had to stop due to the pandemic. He\u2019s a very strong and aggressive athlete, but also very comfortable on the ball.
