Leeds United<\/a> have won the race to sign highly-rated youngster Charlie Allen<\/a> from Northern Irish side Linfield.<\/p>\n

The Whites have signed the 16-year-old for an undisclosed fee from the NIFL Premiership outfit.<\/p>\n

He has signed a three-year contract with the Premier League<\/a> side, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

Allen joins Jack Harrison<\/a> and Joe Gelhardt<\/a> as new signings through the doors of Thorp Arch in recent days, with both completing deals yesterday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leeds Beat off Fierce Competition to Sign Allen<\/h3>\n

Leeds beat off interest from the likes of major clubs such as Liverpool<\/a>, Chelsea<\/a>, Rangers<\/a> and Manchester City<\/a> in order to get Allen’s signature.<\/p>\n

The Northern Irish youth international had attracted lots of attention for his performances under the ex-Leeds player David Healy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He has already experienced first-team football despite only being 16-years-old. Allen made his debut at just 15 years, five months and five days – making him the club’s youngest ever debutant.<\/p>\n

In total, he made four appearances for Linfield’s first-team, earning an assist on his record-breaking debut.<\/p>\n

The Whites new boy will initially join up with Leeds’ under-18s side before attempting to catch the eye of Marcelo Bielsa.<\/p>\n

Allen Can Play in Attack or Midfield for Leeds<\/h3>\n

The Northern Irishman has earned five caps for his country’s under-17 side, netting once in the process. He has been described as talented on the ball and able to play as an attacking midfielder or up top.<\/p>\n

Allen is also a player with a good deal of physicality despite his slight build; he has a fearless approach to attacking opposition defences.<\/p>\n

The fact he was so highly sought after suggests he could be a very promising addition for Leeds United.<\/p>\n
