Lazio<\/a> want to sign Manchester City<\/a> playmaker David Silva,<\/a> according to reports from The Guardian<\/a> and Sky Sports Italia.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 34-year-old midfielder is currently available as a free agent. However, the former Spain international will still play for City in the upcoming Champions League fixtures.<\/p>\n

Manchester City Legend Set to Depart for Lazio<\/h2>\n

Lazio Offer for Silva<\/h3>\n

Despite negotiations proving difficult between the two parties, as Sky Sports Italia reported, Silva and Lazio are nearing the completion of a deal.<\/p>\n

According to the Guardian<\/a>, the Serie A club offered him \u00a350,000 a week. However, the Spanish midfielder wants closer to \u00a3100,000 a week, which slowed the negotiations.<\/p>\n

Silva’s New Challenge<\/h3>\n

Silva announced last summer that he would leave the Etihad when his contract expired.<\/p>\n

He spent ten years in Manchester and played over 400 games for the club. Silva played his final Premier League game for the club last month as City beat Norwich<\/a> 5-0 at the Etihad.<\/p>\n

Speaking about ending his time at City last summer, Silva said in a press conference<\/a>: “This is the last one. Ten years for me is enough. It\u2019s the perfect time for me. Initially, City were talking about two [more] years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt completes the cycle. It\u2019s a nice round figure. I can never see myself playing against City for another team. So 10 years \u2013 that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n

After his final game for City against Norwich City<\/a>, Silva said to Sky Sports<\/a>: “I have enjoyed the 10 years here, today was the last game in the Premier League, but now we have to be focused on the Champions League.<\/p>\n

“It was emotional, I have been here for 10 years, I love all of the players and staff, we have a good relationship and I am going to miss all of them.<\/p>\n

“I couldn’t imagine winning so many titles in the way we did when I first came here. I am a lucky guy; I’ve had a lot of nice moments. I will miss everything, even the weather!”<\/p>\n
