Manchester United<\/a> academy graduate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson<\/a> has joined League Two<\/a> Oldham Athletic<\/a> on a one-year<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n

Borthwick-Jackson had a spell at Boundary Park in the second half of last season and joins now that his contract at Old Trafford has expired.<\/p>\n

Struggled Since Manchester United Breakthrough<\/h3>\n

The left-back, who first broke through under Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, has experienced a tough time of it since.<\/p>\n

Loan spells at Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>, Leeds United<\/a>, Scunthorpe United<\/a> and Tranmere Rovers<\/a> haven’t worked out for him, though he’s shown enough at Boundary Park to earn a one-year contract.<\/p>\n

He will once again link-up with fellow Manchester United academy graduate Zak Dearnley<\/a> at Oldham.<\/p>\n

Dearnley signed a contract extension<\/a> in June.<\/p>\n

Determined to Give His All<\/h3>\n

“I’m really pleased to be back at the club and can’t wait to get going again,” Borthwick-Jackson said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I enjoyed my loan spell last season and I’m pleased I’ve got another opportunity now to build on that and show the fans more of what I can do.<\/p>\n

“I’ll give 100% commitment again and I’m focused on getting regular game time as part of a strong defensive unit.”<\/p>\n

Under New Management<\/h3>\n

Things may look different for his return, with head coach Dino Maamria having been sacked.<\/p>\n

Former Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell has been hired<\/a> as his replacement.<\/p>\n

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will now face the challenge of having to prove himself to yet another manager.<\/p>\n

He was regularly involved in his short time under Maamria, making six appearances out of a possible nine.<\/p>\n

Though by signing him, the League Two side have put their faith in him doing so.<\/p>\n

Talent Remains<\/h3>\n

At the age of 23, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is still young. But this is his time to kick-on and prove his talent remains.<\/p>\n

Borthwick-Jackson was awarded the 2015\/16 Denzil Haroun reserve team player of the season at Manchester\u00a0 United.<\/p>\n

A one-year contract is sure to keep him keen to earn an extension or a move elsewhere.<\/p>\n
