Fleetwood Town<\/a> have made their first summer signing by bringing in Callum Camps from League One rivals Rochdale.<\/p>\n

Camps arrives on a free transfer and is Fleetwood\u2019s first signing since their defeat in the League One play-offs.<\/p>\n

Camps Arrives From League One Rivals Rochdale<\/h3>\n

Fleetwood announced via their website<\/a> they had signed the creative midfielder. Camps arrives on a free transfer and has signed a two-year deal at Highbury.<\/p>\n

Camps is Fleetwood\u2019s first new signing since their disappointing exit from the League One play-offs. The midfielder had spent his entire career at Rochdale but leaves following the expiration of his contract.<\/p>\n

The midfielder has been a consistent performer at League One level. At the age of 24, he has over 240 appearances under his belt for Rochdale, scoring 30 goals.<\/p>\n

Camps also has international experience having represented Northern Ireland at U21 level. He is certainly a shrewd signing from Joey Barton as Fleetwood plot another promotion bid.<\/p>\n

Camps Excited For New Challenge<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Fleetwood website<\/a> about his move, Camps said: \u201cI\u2019m just excited to get it over the line really.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to the training ground. It\u2019s not like anything I\u2019ve seen before at this level. I couldn\u2019t wait to get it all done before the lads get in on Monday, I\u2019m happy to be here.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew it was going to happen, I\u2019ve had some of back and forth with a lot of clubs over the Summer, and after speaking to the manager and the coaching staff here, I thought this was the perfect fit for me to progress my career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe squad that Fleetwood have already is already one of the best in the league and after speaking to the gaffer, after seeing the depth of stats and details that he goes through from previous games, it made me want to come here and play at this club.\u201d<\/p>\n
