As reported by The Independent, an initial fee of £60 million has been agreed in principle. Subsequent instalments will eventually take the deal to over £100 million.

Manchester United Continue to Negotiate Sancho Deal

Dortmund Seek to Avoid Long-Running Saga

In recent weeks, Dortmund have been vocal about their desire to keep Jadon Sancho at the club. However, they understand it is his desire to return to the Premier League having left Manchester City three years ago.

As interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid has seemingly come and gone, United now look like the most likely buyers. This latest breakthrough comes as Dortmund are reportedly keen to make concessions if it means concluding the deal quickly so they can make concrete preparations of their own for the 2020/21 Bundesliga season.

With big money on the horizon pending the sale of Sancho, transfer market specialists Dortmund have talents in their crosshairs. Lille youngster Jonathan Ikone and former United winger Memphis Depay have both flirted with moves to the Westfalenstadion, to name just a couple.

United Edging Closer to Jadon Sancho Deal

The minor breakthrough in negotiations is the latest development in a recent upturn in fortunes at Old Trafford. If Solskjaer and co are able to bring in Sancho, who has enjoyed yet another stellar season in Germany with 20 goals and 18 assists, it would add yet another dazzling talent to their already exciting front four.

Progress is timely as survivalists Aston Villa have the leverage to stand firm on their £80 million valuation of Jack Grealish. Else, it is understood that Kingsley Coman would be considered as a third option. However, the fans, the manager and the board will all be hoping their marquee signing arrives from Dortmund.

Main Photo

Embed from Getty Images

A minor breakthrough has been made in informal negotiations as United attempt to hammer out a deal for Jadon Sancho.
