Chelsea<\/a> transfer target Kai Havertz<\/a> will play for Bayer Leverkusen in their remaining Europa League fixtures, the clubs Managing Director of Sport has confirmed.<\/p>\n

Kai Havertz to Stay at Bayer Leverkusen For Europa League Matches<\/h2>\n

Remain at Bayer for Remainder of Season<\/h3>\n

Bayer Leverkusen Managing Director of Sport, Rudi V\u00f6ller, has confirmed that the midfielder will see out their Europa League fixtures. \u201cThat is set in stone,\u201d\u00a0said the 60-year-old.<\/a><\/p>\n

V\u00f6ller also confirmed that the club are yet to receive any concrete offers for the winger, despite being linked with Bayern Munich and Chelsea this season.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old winger and his teammates take a 3-1 advantage to Ibrox for the second leg of their Europa League tie. The winner will face either Inter Milan or Getafe in the semi-final.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Link<\/h3>\n

Havertz has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time now. But V\u00f6ller has dismissed any chances of a discount of their star player as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Bayern have pulled out of the race after the Bundesliga champions revealed they would not match the wingers \u00a390 million release clause.<\/p>\n

But Chelsea, who have already seen Timo Wener leave Germany for London<\/a>, are continuing their pursuit despite tabling a concrete bid.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are reportedly willing to match the release clause but want to settle any differences with add ons as opposed to an upfront fee.<\/a><\/p>\n

Havertz This Season<\/h3>\n

Havertz has\u00a0had an incredible season for Leverkusen this season. The 21-year-old played in 30\u00a0Bundesliga<\/a> games, where he scored 12 and assisted six more.<\/p>\n

He plays in a wide range of positions, including the eight, ten and false nine positions. He can also operate on either wing. This versatility is a great benefit for any buying club by adding squad depth with just one signing.<\/p>\n

After his outstanding season, Havertz reportedly wants a new challenge. Bayer Leverkusen\u2019s failure to challenge for the league title, or even qualify for the\u00a0Champions League<\/a>, influenced Havertz to consider a move, and a move to Chelsea looks certain after Frank Lampard’s side secured Champions League football.<\/p>\n
