Fernandinho<\/a> has revealed that he has spoken with his current boss, Pep Guardiola, about potentially taking the reigns as manager with the Brazil national side.<\/a><\/p>\n

Important Part of the Team<\/h3>\n

The Manchester City<\/a> midfielder has been one of Guardiola’s most important players since he took charge at the Etihad Stadium and has been a key part of the way that the manager wants his team to play.<\/p>\n

Now, the Brazilian has revealed that he has spoken with his current boss about taking charge of his national team. Speaking to Globo Esporte<\/a> (and translated by Sport Witness<\/a>) he said: “We once talked about it, but in a very informal way, more in an informal chat.<\/p>\n

“But mainly because of the news that came out in Brazil which said he\u2019d said he\u2019d like to train Brazil. But I believe it\u2019s a bit impossible.<\/p>\n

“He said he thinks Brazil and Argentina should always have Brazilian and Argentine coaches. We produce so many players, we have the capacity to produce great coaches.<\/p>\n

“Within the more informal conversation I believe it\u2019s difficult, but in football, there is no certainty of anything.”<\/p>\n

Guardiola Successful as a Club Manager<\/h3>\n

Guardiola so far has managed in Spain, Germany and England. He is yet to challenge himself as a national team coach but he is certainly not short of plaudits as a club coach.<\/p>\n

Despite only having managed three teams – Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City – he has already won 29 trophies as a manager, including two Champions League titles and eight league titles across La Liga<\/a>, the Bundesliga<\/a> and the Premier League.<\/a><\/p>\n

Personal Accolades for Guardiola<\/h3>\n

He has also won numerous individual awards, with the most recent being the Premier League Manager of the Season award in the 2018\/19 season. This came as he led Manchester City to a 98-point Premier League winning season.<\/p>\n

Guardiola has now spent a total of four years as a manager in England. If he enters a fifth as City boss, it will be his longest tenure as a manager at any club and it might mean that he could soon be looking for a change of scenery. A national team could be the next step for the Spanish manager.<\/p>\n
