Middlesbrough<\/a> have confirmed that manager Neil Warnock<\/a> will remain at the helm for next season. Warnock joined the club in June<\/a> and helped steer them clear of relegation.<\/p>\n

Neil Warnock to Stay at Middlesbrough<\/h2>\n

Warnock Keen to Work With Gibson<\/h3>\n

Boro have confirmed that the 71-year-old will stay on as manager at the Riverside after revitalising their season since arriving on Teeside.<\/p>\n

He took over from former Real Madrid<\/a> and Leeds United player Jonathan Woodgate<\/a>, who won only nine matches during his year in charge.<\/p>\n

The Yorkshireman guided Middlesbrough to a 17th placed finish in the Championship<\/a> this campaign. When Warnock arrived on Teeside with the club in the relegation zone and had one win in 13 matches.<\/p>\n

In the remaining eight matches, Middlesbrough recorded four wins and four losses to all but secure their safety with a game to go.<\/p>\n

The club’s website<\/a> stated: “Warnock had made no secret of his desire to work for Steve Gibson and Middlesbrough, and was adamant that talks would only take place about the future once the club\u2019s Championship status was secured.”<\/p>\n

The ex-Sheffield United<\/a> boss has already been involved in discussions relating to the club’s recruitment and planning for next season.<\/p>\n

Both assistant manager Kevin Blackwell and first-team coach Ronnie Jepson will remain by Warnock’s side for the 2020\/21 Championship season.<\/p>\n

Middlesbrough Could Be a Threat Under Warnock<\/h3>\n

Before this campaign, Middlesbrough had finished fifth and seventh in the previous two seasons. Warnock will be keen to make amends and turn the Teeside club back into a promotion-challenging outfit next term.<\/p>\n

He holds the record for recording the most promotions, with eight successes across his previous 16 employers.<\/p>\n

His latest success came two years ago when managing Cardiff City<\/a>. The South Wales side finished 12th in the season prior to their promotion to the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n
