Norwich City<\/a> have signed American youth international Sebastian Soto. The 20-year-old striker joins the Canaries on a free transfer, after his contract with German club Hannover expired. He has penned a three-year deal at Carrow Road.<\/p>\n

‘Dream Come True’<\/h3>\n

Soto, who starred in last summer’s U20 World Cup, told the club’s official website: \u201cIt\u2019s a proud feeling. It\u2019s super exciting to join Norwich City.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe facilities here are really impressive. From the minute I arrived here, it\u2019s given me a lot of excitement.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a young player, it\u2019s nice to hear that the head coach gives us a chance. It was a big factor in me moving here.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a striker that loves scoring goals. I love being part of a good team that plays good football.\u201d<\/p>\n

And whilst he’ll most likely be making his Norwich debut in front of an empty stadium, Soto is looking forward to the moment when he can play in front of Canaries fans<\/p>\n

\u201c[I\u2019m most looking forward to] playing at Carrow Road, in front of these great fans and making my mark here. “It will be a dream come true when that happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who is Sebastian Soto?<\/h3>\n

It’s fair to say that Soto is an unknown quantity on these shores. The youngster only played 16 minutes of first-team football in 2.Bundelsiga for Hannover last season, spread out across two substitute appearances. But it’s clear that this is a signing for the future.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old started his career in his native California, before joining MLS outfit Real Salt Lake in 2016. Two years later, he joined Hannover 96 – a Bundesliga side at the time. The promising frontman made three substitute appearances as his team suffered relegation to the second tier.<\/p>\n

It’s quite likely that Norwich’s recruitment team would have been alerted to his performances at the U20 World Cup last summer. Soto scored four goals in four games as his team reached the quarter-final stage.<\/p>\n

City’s sporting director Stuart Webber has overseen a productive few weeks in the transfer market, as the club look to bounce back from relegation by investing in youth. They’ve already signed young midfielder Bali Mumba<\/a> from Sunderland.<\/a> The 18-year-old joined the club on a four-year contract.<\/a><\/p>\n

Jacob Lungi Sorenson, Danel Sinani and Przemyslaw Placheta<\/a> have also checked into East Anglia recently.<\/p>\n
