Scottish champions Celtic are in talks with West Ham United<\/a> over a loan move for out of favour forward Albian Ajeti<\/a>. Interest in the 23-year-old has grown since a disappointing first season with the Hammers.<\/p>\n

Celtic Eye Loan Move for Albian Ajeti<\/h2>\n

Albian Ajeti May Head North for First-Team Football<\/h3>\n

According to Sky Sports<\/a> and the Guardian’s<\/a> Jacob Steinberg, the Swiss forward is willing to move on loan to Glasgow for next season. The Hoops are discussing the possibility of a loan deal with an option to buy for a fee of approximately \u00a35 million.<\/p>\n

Celtic, who won their ninth successive Scottish Premiership last term, can also offer the attractive prospect of European football should Ajeti make the move north of the border.<\/p>\n

Prior to the Swiss international move to the Premier League<\/a>, Celtic were one of a number of clubs vying for his signature.<\/p>\n

Ajeti signed for West Ham, then managed by Manuel Pellegrini, last August in an \u00a38 million deal.<\/p>\n

A Season to Forget for West Ham’s Ajeti<\/h3>\n

Having scored 21 goals in 43 appearances during the 2018\/19 campaign, there were high hopes for the young forward. However, he been unable to find that form in England’s top-tier.<\/p>\n

Just 12 appearances for Ajeti in the West Ham shirt highlight why Celtic may be an attractive move for the 23-year-old. All nine of his Premier League outings came off the bench and he failed to find the back of the net all season.<\/p>\n

A fresh start may be ideal for this forward who appears to be low on confidence.<\/p>\n

Ajeti would join Celtic as they go in the hunt for their tenth successive Scottish league title. Manager Neil Lennon<\/a> has relied on the firepower of both Odsonne Edouard<\/a> and Leigh Griffiths<\/a> as out and out strikers lately. West Ham’s Ajeti may help to add to Celtic’s attacking threat.<\/p>\n

Celtic will begin their Champions League campaign in early August when they take part in the preliminary rounds, hoping to earn a place in next season’s group stages.<\/p>\n
