With West Ham United<\/a> now all but clear of the dropzone, David Moyes has outlined his intentions to keep hold of star players such as Declan Rice<\/a>. The England international has been the \u00a0subject of constant transfer rumours<\/a> after some impressive performances displaying great leadership. David Moyes, however, believes Rice’s future will be at the London Stadium as the eventual captain of West Ham.<\/span><\/p>\n

David Moyes Explains ‘Intentions’ For Declan Rice Future<\/span><\/h2>\n

Moyes “Confident” About Rice Stay<\/span><\/h3>\n

David Moyes reassured those doubting the future of Declan Rice at West Ham in a recent interview with Sky Sports,<\/a> saying: “I am confident he will be here because he is under contract, but whatever club you are at, even the biggest clubs sell their best players at the right value. My Intention is not to sell Declan at all, my intention is to keep him.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Moyes then went onto talk about Rice’s potential future as West Ham captain, saying: “I think Declan is the future captain of West Ham going forward. When Mark Noble<\/a> comes to an end, I think it will be Declan Rice. We have no intention of letting him go, but, if it does come, it will need to be ‘bank of England’ money.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Rice Rumours Unsurprising\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Since the restart, Declan Rice has arguably been West Ham’s best player, bar Michail Antonio.<\/a> He has played the role of the leader almost perfectly and looks the most suitable candidate to take the armband from long time servant Mark Noble.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The rumours of a move away do not come as a surprise either, with Rice hitting new heights this season. And, after curling a long-range drive past Watford’s<\/a> Ben Foster<\/a> last Friday, he looks the full package as a midfielder.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether it be this summer or the next, one would think a player of Declan Rice’s ability will want to play at the highest of levels very soon, leaving his West Ham future in question despite Moyes\u2019 intentions.<\/span><\/p>\n
