Wigan Athletic have accepted a bid from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers for Kieffer Moore<\/a>, according to Wigan Today’s<\/a> Paul Kendrick. The Welshman is the Latics’ top scorer<\/a> this season with nine goals. However, Wigan are in the midst of an administration battle, and as well as losing their talented youngsters, such as Jensen Weir<\/a> and Alfie Devine<\/a>, their prized assets in the first team will likely need to be sold too.<\/p>\n

Wigan will likely need to take what they can get in terms of offers for players at the moment. Therefore, it will not be surprising to see the final fee paid by QPR be less than the \u00a32.5 million Wigan paid Barnsley for Moore’s services last summer.<\/p>\n

Preston North End are also said to be interested in the 6’5″ frontman, but this speculation was played down by boss Alex Neil<\/a> following his side’s win over Birmingham City at the weekend.<\/p>\n

He said: “It’s speculation, we get linked to players all the time.<\/p>\n

“I think it’s just naturally because we’re getting closer to the transfer window.<\/p>\n

“Wigan are in administration, so his agent will be doing what his agent should be doing.”<\/p>\n

A Needed Addition<\/h3>\n

QPR have relied heavily on the goals of Jordan Hugill<\/a> this season, who has 15. However, his loan from West Ham United<\/a> is set to expire at the end of the season, and the fee for more is considerably less than what the Hammers would command for Hugill after his failed move from Preston.<\/p>\n

With Eberechi Eze<\/a> also looking likely to leave Rangers<\/a>, the addition of Moore will give them something completely different in attack. Hugill and Nahki Wells<\/a> rely on a poaching ability while Moore is a physical presence in the box.<\/p>\n

However, should Eze depart, then an addition to replace him and provide the service for Moore will be key.<\/p>\n
