Liverpool<\/a> against Chelsea<\/a> is a fixture that tends to produce big moments. From Champions League clashes to FA Cup finals, blue vs red usually means a fight for glory.<\/p>\n

But this game is slightly different. Liverpool have already sealed the Premier League crown, however Chelsea, on the other hand, needs the points to confirm Champions League qualification.<\/p>\n

It’s not often that one of these titans don’t have much to play for when they face-off. But that is the case for Liverpool. With the Reds in recent lousy form, Chelsea has a golden opportunity to consolidate Champions League qualification.<\/p>\n

Golden Opportunity for the Blues<\/h3>\n

Simply put, things are starting to come together for Frank Lampard<\/a> and Chelsea. The Blues have been impressive since the restart. Other than a poor showing at Sheffield United<\/a>, they have won all their games since the Premier League resumed.<\/p>\n

Their good form was shown by an impressive 3-1 win over Manchester United<\/a> in the FA Cup semi-final. With three games remaining, the Blues find themselves in third place in the table, but with only one point separating them and fifth place. Chelsea need to win this game if they don’t want to be overtaken.<\/p>\n

Also, Champions League qualification would be a massive accomplishment for the club. The Blues were unable to purchase players in the summer due to a transfer ban, meaning that using youth players such as Mason Mount<\/a> and Tammy Abraham<\/a> helped them to this position.<\/p>\n

However, it could all be for nothing if they don’t beat Liverpool. However, Chelsea have a golden opportunity in this game, and there could be no better time than now to play the Champions.<\/p>\n

Stuttering Champions<\/h3>\n

After a season of pure dominance, the Reds have slowed down since they sealed the Premier League trophy. Recent results include a drab 1-1 draw with Burnley<\/a> and a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What these results mean is that the Reds cannot beat Manchester City<\/a>‘s record of 100 points. In addition, Mohamed Salah<\/a> is too far behind Jamie Vardy<\/a> in the goalscoring charts to win the Premier League Golden boot.<\/p>\n

Simply put, Liverpool doesn’t have anything on the line. They can only remind the world of why they were runaway champions with a win.<\/p>\n

But, in all honesty, Wednesday’s game might be more of a celebration for the Reds. After the contest is concluded, Kenny Dalglish will present Jordan Henderson<\/a> with the club’s first-ever Premier League title. There will be an air of celebration no matter what the result is.<\/p>\n

Previous Meeting<\/h3>\n

The last time Chelsea and Liverpool met, the game was a thriller. The Reds won 2-1 in a nail-biting match at Stamford Bridge. Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> opened the scoring with an incredible strike, and Roberto Firmino<\/a> doubled the lead with a header just before half-time.<\/p>\n

However, Chelsea came out firing in the second half. N’Golo Kante<\/a> put away a lovely solo goal to halve the Red’s lead. Chelsea had their chances to equalise, but they didn’t take them as Liverpool held on to win.<\/p>\n

Prediction<\/h3>\n

Chelsea have too much on the line, and Liverpool has nothing to motivate them. The Blues will have too much for a celebrating Red’s team.<\/p>\n
