Huddersfield Town<\/a> has sacked Danny Cowley. The brothers have been relieved of their managerial duties effective immediately.<\/p>\n

This comes despite the brothers leading the Terriers to a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion<\/a> on Friday night.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcdd #htafc<\/a> has today relieved Danny Cowley of his duties as Manager.<\/p>\n

Assistant Manager Nicky Cowley will also depart the Club immediately.<\/p>\n

In his statement<\/a>, Huddersfield Town Chairman Phil Hodgkinson said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to place my thanks on record to Danny and Nicky for their hard work and dedication towards securing the Club\u2019s place in the Sky Bet Championship for next season. That was the clear priority when they were appointed in September and we are very grateful that has been achieved.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all wish Danny and Nicky all the best for the future and they leave with my best wishes in their future endeavours.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, we have made this decision in the belief that, in the long term, it is in the best interests of the Club as we move forward. We have a different vision for the way we operate the Club, and how our ambitions can be achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cowleys joined<\/a> Huddersfield from Lincoln City in September 2019 after leading the Imps to three trophies in as many seasons.<\/p>\n

In October, a run of six unbeaten games meant Danny Cowley\u00a0won the\u00a0EFL Championship Manager of the Month<\/a> award.<\/p>\n

During their first season in charge of Lincoln, they oversaw the club’s promotion back to the Football League. The Imps won the title with two games to spare after being relegated in 2011.<\/p>\n

Lincoln fans were sad to see the Cowleys go and Huddersfield fans seem to feel the same way.<\/p>\n
