According to French outlet L\u2019\u00c9quipe<\/span><\/a>, AS Monaco have fired head coach Robert Moreno and are set to make ex-Bayern Munich<\/a> man Niko Kovac their new manager.<\/p>\n

Reports from France suggest that 42-year-old Monaco manager Moreno has been fired by the French club.<\/p>\n

The arrival of new<\/span> Sporting Director Paul Mitchell coupled with the\u00a0Monaco board\u2019s\u00a0persistent\u00a0desire to install a new DNA into the club might be linked to Moreno\u2019s sacking<\/p>\n

The decision had been made for several days and was signed off on by owner Dimitri Rybolovlev, Oleg Petrov and Mitchell.<\/p>\n

This news comes as a surprise, as Moreno took leadership of the French side barely seven months ago, amassing only 20 games for the French side.<\/p>\n

Since his appointment in December, the Spaniard managed a win ratio of 60%, beating Thierry Henry\u2019s 25% and Leonardo Jardim’s 35% in his second stint at the club.<\/p>\n

Moreno won 11 games for Les Mon\u00e9gasques, drawing four and losing four in all competitions.<\/p>\n

Monaco finished ninth in Ligue 1 after an abrupt end to the season and have now failed to qualify for European competition for the second year running.<\/p>\n

Monaco Target Niko Kova\u010d<\/h3>\n

Kova\u010d\u00a0has been a free agent since he was sacked by Bayern Munich<\/a>, after a humbling 5-1 defeat to his former\u00a0Frankfurt side last year.<\/p>\n

It is reported that AS Monaco have contacted him over the vacant spot at the club and are set to make him their new manager.<\/p>\n

Style of Play<\/h3>\n

The ex-Bayern man is a more conventional coach. He operates with a preferred 4-3-3 system, with two centre-backs, four players on the flanks, and one striker.<\/p>\n

With an attacking mentality, he has a likeness for high pressing by his players, with his attackers creating chances from the flanks.<\/p>\n

In defence, he instructs his defenders to occupy open spaces while quickly falling behind the ball. His full-backs occasionally join the attack, whipping the ball in from deep or cutting the into the box from the byline.<\/p>\n

With Kovac set to be Monaco\u2019s fourth manager in two years, the Monaco faithful would hope he is the man to bring success to the Stade Louis II.<\/p>\n
